Breastfeeding necessity with lots of room for improvement
Conceptually, I can't believe this didn't exist earlier. It is absolutely essential in my nursing wardrobe and I was so excited and ready to love these. However, there are many simple ways these could be improved. I would still recommend this product, but only for sleeping when coverage is less of an issue. Having a single piece that serves as a leak pad, bra, and tank top is a huge relief, but it could be SO much better. I expected to buy several more and wear these regularly, but given the weaknesses below I won't be doing that.
- The V-neck cut makes me very exposed to the point where I can only wear this as an undershirt. I would much prefer more coverage so I could wear it as a tank top rather than basically a bra that covers my stomach too. Maybe I needed to size up, but even still I think the coverage would be problematic.
- I've never understood removable pads and this is no exception. If anything, the fact that you're unclipping it throughout the day and trying to refasten it makes the removable pads even more annoying. Every time I nurse I have to readjust the pads when I clip the top back together which is infuriating. There should be an option to have the pads sewn in so they stay put.
- I had to wash these tops 3+ times before the fabric felt soft enough to not irritate my skin. Initially it felt like there was fiberglass in the fabric or something. My breasts were so itchy from wearing them that I almost gave up, but I'm glad I kept washing them until they…
