I swear by Knix underwear during my period (high rise for overnight, thongs for daytime). I have been using them for the past 5 years and my original pairs are still perfect and show no signs of wear (I've bought extra now to keep at my mom's house for when I'm travelling, etc) The medium fits perfectly - not tight at all but hugs perfectly (and is not restrictive in any way - something I'm very sensitive about during my period!) For reference - I'm 5'4 and 127 lbs (and have a decent shaped booty ;)). On heavier days, I wear these with a diva cup. On my easier flow days, I can wear these alone with no issues.
